“My life and outlook has improved 100%. SPODA is a wonderful organisation without their help I would be struggling emotionally."

Grandparent / Carer Support

If you are a Grandparent or a family member caring for or concerned for someone else’s child affected by their parents substance use, then we can offer you support to help relieve some of the daunting problems that you may face.

We can advise and assist with many practical issues such as financial, legal, social-care and housing. We wil also support you with the emotional issues, helping to reduce the stress and isolation that many carers face, which in turn will hopefully improve the outcomes for the children and the rest of the family.

Grandparents and carers can choose how to access support, either in their own home, at SPODA, or another venue i.e. health centre, GP surgery or by telephone.

Grandparents and carers can also benefit by meeting others in a similar situation through our groups or respite activities.
